Katerina Siniakova, the representative of “Top Five” agency, and her fellow-countrywoman Barbora Krejcikova became the first doubles team which has successfully qualified for BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore scheduled to take place from October 21-28.
This year Katerina and Barbora triumphed at both Rolland Garros and Wimbledon. These victories not only let them earn enough points to qualify but also helped them repeat the achievement of Kim Clijsters and Ai Sugiyama who managed to win these Grand Slam tournaments within a calendar year in 2003. Moreover, Katerina and Barbora have become the first players ever who won both girls’ (2013) and ladies’ doubles titles at Wimbledon.
“Barbora and I are very excited and we look forward to some great matches this year in Singapore”, said Katerina.
Katerina permanently teamed up with Barbora at the beginning of 2018 and the pair has also reached finals in Shenzhen and Miami and semi-finals in Doha and Birmingham.
